Baremark is the next-generation surfacing solution for playgrounds, replacing synthetic rubber with a fossil-free alternative. It eliminates microplastic pollution, meets stringent safety standards, and aligns with ESG goals. This product taps into a growing market demand for sustainable infrastructure and offers investors a scalable, differentiating opportunity. It’s not just a healthier playground surface—it’s a smart, future-proof investment.

Bioregion Institute has established Biospinout One, a venture that will lead the R&D process further in collaboration with Bioregion Institute and Elverdal to kick start Baremark.

In nature, the ground can be dug into, moved around and transformed into new landscapes for creative play. In nature, the ground is a bustling life of microbes that transforms organic material in eternal cycles. We want the playground surface to contribute to creating living playgrounds for children and for the surrounding ecosystem.

Based on organic residual materials from local industries, we are developing a material that can extend the life of waste-materials that today have ended their life in the landfill or as fuel, heat or power. The playground surface has the potential to be adapted to each specific playground with its local climatic conditions and resource cycles.

Baremark is committed to research how a sustainable playground surface could act and further develop it into a sustainable product for the future. Follow the project as we create playful environments for children in coexistence with a diverse eco-system.
