For Post Moon Eclipse, Chrissie Muhr joins us to share knowledge and methods on how biomaterials can increasingly become a part of contemporary architecture.

Chrissie Muhr is an architect, researcher, and curator. She is the inaugural Artistic Director of the biennial Architecture Week Basel 2022 (AWB). Muhr has worked for a variety of projects and institutions, currently as curator and editor of the exhibition and publication Reset Materials – Towards Sustainable Architecture at Copenhagen Contemporary in 2023. Following her multidisciplinary practice and agency, she has most recently worked as a senior researcher and curator for the Swiss design company Vitra, Fritz Hansen in Denmark, bplus, and Arch+ Magazine in Berlin, among others. She is teaching internationally as a lecturer and critic. Most recently, she initiated a research and AA Visiting School programme on Post-Carbon Material Practices at The Stuttgart State Academy of Art and Design. Since 2014 she has been based in Basel, Switzerland.

Chrissie will present the project and exhibition Reset Materials – Towards Sustainable Architecture through its ten team’s investigations and visions of a post-carbon architecture, anchored locally in the specific environmental and social conditions in Denmark, aiming to share its material knowledge and methods among different territories and beyond disciplinary boundaries. She will emphasise both the specific as general risks and challenges and the potentials and solutions to foster the transition – from aesthetics to policies and practice.
