Beautiful, healthy and regenerative biomaterials give products an narrative edge. Our multidisciplinary team navigate between science and craft, collaborating across sectors, industries, and territories.
Our methods are regenerative and design driven.

Together with our industry partners, we deliver biobased, biodegradable and fossil-free material solutions for consumer goods people want and our planet need, following a four steps process:

We deliver bioregional material models

100% biobased

To tackle our environmental, social, and industrial challenges, we must be unwavering in our choice of materials and their value chains.

Integrity: All our research uses 100% bio-based raw materials, with 0% plastic involved.

Regional: Our DesignBiolab prioritizes sourcing from local and nearby suppliers to reduce carbon emissions.

Social: By collaborating with local partners, we enhance their knowledge and promote regional social value while creating new environmentally friendly jobs.

100% biodegradable

Biobased materials are essential but not sufficient. All materials we create and use must be fully biodegradable to prevent creating new pollution problems that could harm our ecosystems and health, therefore are our main focus.

Regenerative: We aim to create 100% biodegradable materials. Our aim is to ensure that the compounds from your biodesigned material can be fully absorbed by natural ecosystems, benefiting Nature instead of just taking from its resources.

Six months delivery time

Time is running out for you, your stakeholders, our ecosystems.

Robust: All (y)our proof of concept comes with accurate data collected by our DesignBiolab staff while carefully creating your biodesign.

Clear: Our proposals are straightforward, friendly, and concise, encouraging us to fulfill our promises.

Efficient: To speed up a positive impact, our team commits to delivering your proof of concept within six months from your order.

Regenerative process

Mapping

The mapping process includes a project specific State of the Art (SotA) tuned to the projects needs and the bioregion; collecting and refining the research level of innovation and knowledge, existing products on the market, strategical partners and networks. We map data about the raw materials available, delivering value-chain maps with criteras like quantities, capabilities and aestetic value, to inform your project.

Modelling

We model, craft and develop bio- and geo-based, functional and aesthetic materials and product ideas in form the of Proof of Concept (POC). We iterate as much as needed for us to reach your material behavior expectations, match existing concurrent solutions and create new value for the end user.

Designing

The materials and product ideas are tested and new versions developed further into Minimum Viable Products (MVP’s). The models are market tested for functional use, bioregional industial upscaling and scientific parameters of biodegradability and values for nature. Learnings are incorporated in the final design of the product for market.

Scaling

With expert partners and investors the best products are scaled with robust regenerative business models and market ready products. By securing pilot clients, funding and industry support, we facilitate pilot projects on industrial partners' production lines or within our own Biofactory. Our team manage intellectual property through co-joined patents and licensing strategies, ensuring sustainable growth.
