Oat Biomaterial

Norgesmøllene is one of Norways most important flour mills and care deeply about minimizing waste in their value chain.

As a member, they have commissioned Bioregion institute to explore how low value biowaste can be used in high value materials and products. We are mapping new possibilities for oat hulls in the project named Oat biomaterials. Its goal is to develop industrialised biomaterials and biobased products.

The final consequence and goal of this explorative research is to reduce the carbon emission and footprint, costs from waste handling and find new business opportunities and revenues.
