Research

Below is a selection of research projects and consortia we have contributed to as an active partner. The projects span biological resources, circular value chains, regenerative materials, agriculture, aquaculture, fisheries, and regional development. Each collaboration gives us an opportunity to connect research with material practice, industrial needs, and new forms of value.

“We investigate how underused biological resources can become new materials, products, and systems for a fossil-free future.”

This section presents selected research projects and consortia in which Bioregion Institute has participated, including projects supported by the Research Council of Norway, European programmes, and other research and innovation partnerships.

As an active consortium member, we connect biological resources with design, material development, industry, and regional value chains. We contribute through resource and value-chain mapping, exploratory research, hands-on material experimentation, prototyping, communication, and the translation of complex knowledge into tangible possibilities.

We believe research should be open to unexpected discoveries, rooted in real places and resources, and connected to practical use. Our work is guided by a simple ambition:

From waste to grace.
One resource. Many futures.

“We are pleased to join new research projects and consortia where our experience in biomaterials, design, value creation, and application can contribute to meaningful change.”
