We are a small, specialist team of designers and biochemists, working with industries that hold underused biological resources and need to know what to do with them.
BioDesign Lab
Our lab is where biological waste becomes industrial material.
A team of designers and industrial biochemists, working hands-on with wool fibres, seaweed extracts, mycelium, oat hull, draff, and hemp, mussel shells to produce proof-of-concept materials that are 100% biobased with materials designed to return safely to natural systems without creating new pollution, 100% biodegradable with materials made from bio-based raw materials, sourced as locally and regionally as possible, and built to perform. We engage ourself to deliver a documented, physical proof of concept delivered within six months of project start.
We are not a consultancy that writes reports about materials:
we make them.
Regenerative Process
We map what you have, develop new material models in our BioDesign Lab and, when the product is ready, scale it to market with our partners.
Four phases.
One team.
No fossil materials involved.
-
We map your value chain and regional resources to uncover concrete, high-impact bio-based opportunities — analysing side-streams, processes, partners, and regulatory context. This phase delivers a shared strategic overview of directions that are worth exploring further.
Outcomes & timelines:
State-of-the-art report tailored to your industry & region
Biomass, additive, process & constraint mapping
Prioritised opportunity overview for materials, systems & products
Time frame: 4 weeks
-
Using your side-streams and our lab infrastructure, we experiment with formulations, binders, and process parameters to create bio-based materials and system models that respond to your context. We document the most promising results as clear protocols and physical POC samples. This phase provides a set of tested material and system POCs that make potential solutions visible and measurable.
Outcomes & timelines:
Experimental programme & testing of material and system variants
Proof-of-Concept samples with documented protocols
Performance summary & development recommendations
Time Frame: 8 weeks
-
Building on the POCs, we design concrete MVPs — early versions of products, components, or interventions that show form, function, and basic performance. We iterate on geometry, assembly, and relevant technical details. This phase delivers a small set of focused MVPs that are ready for pilot testing and feedback.
Outcomes & timelines:
POC selection into MVPs with defined roles & contexts
Design & fabrication of MVP products or components
MVP documentation: assumptions, limitations & next-step options
Time frame: 8 weeks
-
We prepare your solutions for industrial use and market scaling from Norway and beyond, clarifying fit in the value chain, identifying priority segments, and structuring paths to partners, capacity, and capital. Together with specialised commercial partners, we help link technology, industry, market, and funding so that your solution can be tested, adopted, and scaled.
Outcomes & timelines:
Upscaling roadmap from pilot to market with priority segments & milestones
Strategic partnership & industrial pilot proposals
Recommendations for positioning, funding & scaling in Norway & Europe
